Ukrainian Prime Minister visits NATO

Ukrainian Prime Minister Anatoliy Kinakh met with NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson and NATO Ambassadors in the course of a 1 March visit to NATO headquarters.
At a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, Prime Minister Kinakh briefed Lord Robertson and the 19 Permanent Representatives on steps his country had taken to implement its programme of defence, economic and democratic reforms. The Commission also discussed the evolving security situation in the Euro-Atlantic region, the situation in the Balkans, and ways to enhance practical NATO-Ukraine cooperation.
The NATO-Ukraine Commission, which assesses the implementation of the NATO-Ukraine Charter on a Distinctive Partnership and discusses ways to improve and expand cooperation, meets at least twice every year. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Kyiv on 9 July, on the fifth anniversary of the signing of the NATO-Ukraine Charter.
