Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg opened the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on Wednesday (17 July 2019) stressing the importance of transatlantic cooperation. He noted that NATO Allies represent half the world’s economic and military might, and that together they are stronger in dealing with present and future security challenges.

Now in its tenth year, the Aspen Security Forum is a leading conference focused on national and international security issues.

The Secretary General is concluding a visit to North America. On Monday, he joined Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to meet troops at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa, and later delivered remarks at the University of Toronto’s Massey College. On Sunday, both Canadian and US sides of Niagara Falls were illuminated in NATO blue to mark the Alliance’s 70th anniversary and the beginning of Mr. Stoltenberg’s visit.
