The North Atlantic Council visits the NATO Defense College in Rome
The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will travel to Italy on 13 and 14 October 2016 to attend anniversaries of the NATO Defense College with the North Atlantic Council and the NATO Military Committee and to meet Italian officials.
The Secretary General and the Council will join the President of the Republic of Italy, His Excellency Sergio Mattarella in a celebration of the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the College in 1951 and of the 50th anniversary of its installation in Rome in 1966. They will be hosted by the Commandant of the College, Polish Major General Janusz Bojarski. The Military Committee of NATO under the chairmanship of Czech General Petr Pavel is also attending the events.
During his stay in Rome, the Secretary General will also meet the President of Italy, H.E. Mr. Sergio Mattarella, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Paolo Gentiloni and the Minister of Defence H.E. Ms. Roberta Pinotti.
