North Atlantic Council to visit NATO Exercise Trident Juncture in Portugal
On 5 November 2015, the North Atlantic Council (NAC) chaired by the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will travel to Troia, Portugal to attend the maritime Distinguished Visitors’ Day of Exercise Trident Juncture 2015. They will be hosted by the Portuguese Defence Minister José Pedro Aguiar Branco.
The Secretary General will be accompanied by the Chairman of the Military Committee, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT), the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) and the Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, as well as by the NATO Military Committee.
The visit will include a harbour protection demonstration, a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) demonstration and an amphibious assault. The visit will also include a maritime power demonstration.
The President of the Portuguese Republic, H.E. Prof. Dr. Anibal Cavaco Silva, will be present during the demonstration.
During the visit to Portugal, the NATO Secretary General will also have a bilateral meeting with the Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho.
