Secretary General welcomes strong US commitment to NATO
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited the White House on Wednesday (12 April 2017) for his first meeting with President Donald J. Trump and his security team. Following the meeting, Mr. Stoltenberg welcomed the “very strong commitment of the United States to the security of Europe” as demonstrated “in words but also in deeds.” The two leaders agreed on the enduring importance of NATO, and discussed preparations for the May meeting of NATO leaders in Brussels, including NATO's role in the fight against terrorism, and fairer burden-sharing in the Alliance.
