by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg following the NATO-Russia Council meeting
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed that political dialogue with Russia is both necessary and useful, following a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council on Wednesday (20 April 2016). However, he highlighted that today’s meeting does not mean that NATO and Russia are back to business as usual. The NATO-Russia Council discussed the crisis in and around Ukraine, issues related to military activities, with particular focus on transparency and risk reduction, and the security situation in Afghanistan, including regional terrorist threats.
