Ismail Ebipi has obtained multiple academic qualifications in the fields of law and diplomacy:

  • In 2003, he earned a degree in Civil Law from Tetovo University.
  • In 2004, he graduated with a degree in International Law from the South East European University of Tetovo
  • Additionally, he holds a Master’s Degree in Diplomacy, awarded by South East European University of Tetovo M.A. Thesis: Mediterranean Union

Professional Experience:

2003, N D I-National Democratic Institute, Assisting Parliament of Macedonia in implementing of the new Law on the Albanian languages and preparation of first law dictionary in the tree languages English -Macedonian- Albanian

2004, CARE –International Macedonia, Project Officer for TRIANGLE Project. Goal: “Three Universities responding to ethnic divides”

Ismail Ebipi has had a long and distinguished career in public service contribution to various high-level roles:

In 2004, he joints the Civil Service as a member of cabinet in the Ministry of Economy, over time, he has advanced to hold the position of the Chief Legal advisor, State Counsellor, where he serves as and adviser on key economic and strategic sectors, including energy, minerals and infrastructure.

He also served as a board member in multiple organizations, including NGO’s, Agency for Direct Investment, Directorate of Free Economic Zone, North Macedonia Railways Infrastructure and Central Register.

Between 2011 and 2014, he served as Deputy Director for Economic Cooperation in the Ministry of Froing Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, focusing on fostering economic partnership and incentives on the multilateral economic organisation.

From 2014 to 2016, he served as the Deputy Director of the Institute for Geostrategic Research and Foreign Policy.  Encourage the development of research capacity in terms of generating geopolitical strategic directions of state interest and promote them before the domestic and foreign public and coordinating and improving the departments in preparation and implementation of the projects in the ministry.
Between 2016 to 2019, he worked as Minister Counsellor to the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO

From 2019 to 2022, he was appointed as a Special Adviser in the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia- Coordinator of the Prespa Forum Dialog and member of the several initiatives in the MFA.

From 2022- 2024, Minister Counsellor, Head of the Political section and the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia to NATO

February 15, 2025 Acting Permanent Representative of Republic of North Macedonia to the North Atlantic Council

Ismail is married and has two children.
