This is a joint NATO/OSCE project in the framework of ENVSEC: The Environment and Security Initiative was launched by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Development Programme in 2002. NATO became associated with ENVSEC in 2004 in order to coordinate related activities, in particular under the NATO Programme for Security through Science. (For more information see: www.envsec.org)
