Our Role
The AC/250/CPG undertakes activities related to its mission and guiding
principles and delivers products through a sub-structure of sub-groups and working
parties. Activities (not in order of priority) for which AC/250/CPG is responsible include:
- Define NATO policy in the pursuance of an integrated
systems approach to quality through the whole life cycle;
- Provide leadership in the development and
implementation of Quality Management/Quality Assurance concepts within NATO;
- Support NATO initiatives on PfP;
- Provide a forum for the harmonization of Quality
Management/Quality Assurance concepts;
- Establish and maintain a framework for mutual GQA
within NATO;
- Establish and maintain communications with other NATO
groups to harmonize actions related to quality;
- Anticipate the future needs of NATO with respect to
quality;
- Obtain and share information on state-of-the-art
quality practices employed by other organisations;
- Provide advice and guidance to and seek feedback from
NATO Agencies, Commands, Groups (including NIAG) and collaborative projects;
and
- Define NATO policy for reliability and
maintainability.
Our Guiding Principles
AC/250/CPG applies the following basic principles in pursuit of
its mission:
- Maximize use of international, commercial standards
where appropriate;
- Rationalize and simplify, for all users, all AC/250/CPG
related documents i.e. STANAGs, AQAPs, ARMPs, etc.;
- Maximize use of host nation, cost-effective reciprocal
Government Quality Assurance (GQA) in accordance with the
- NATO Standardization Agreement;
- Pursue an integrated, systems approach to quality
through the whole life cycle;
- Influence the evolution of international standards to
the benefit of NATO;
- Promote continual improvement of quality;
- Remain abreast of the state-of-the-art
developments/thinking in Quality Management and related disciplines;
- Develop and maintain formal interfaces with other
related NATO groups/organizations;
- Consider industrys perspective represented by NATO
Industrial Advisory Group(NIAG) in the development of
- NATO QA policies and processes; and
- Promote the use of best practices by the exchange of
information on national/NATO practices.
