All NATO countries contribute to Pakistan relief
08 Feb. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- On October 8, 2005, a devastating earthquake hit Pakistan. NATO played a full part in the world’s response to the disaster, with every member state contributing in some form. The NATO Response Force (NRF) established an air bridge and deployed over 1,200 soldiers from 17 NATO countries into Pakistan.

NATO to hold final press conference in Islamabad
30 Jan. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- NATO officials, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Maurits Jochems and commander DJTF/NDRT Air Commodore Andrew Walton will hold a final press conference to mark the end of NATO’s disaster relief mission in Pakistan on Tuesday January 31 st, at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad , Pakistan at 1500.

NATO Land Component Command leaves Pakistan
29 Jan.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- The Spanish-led Land Component Command (LCC) of the NATO Disaster Relief Team in Pakistan departed early this morning from Chaklala Air Base in Islamabad. NATO brought engineers and medics after a request from the Pakistani Government to assist in the emergency relief efforts after the October 8th earthquake.

NATO fuel farm reached 1,000 refuels
27 Jan. ABBOTABAD, Pakistan -- The French-led fuel farm of the NATO Disaster Relief Team in Pakistan reached the land mark of 1,000 refuels and more than 2,200 cubic meters delivered, in Abbotabad, 150 km north of Islamabad, in the Kashmir Mountains since the beginning of operations here December 1st.

Polish engineers leave Pakistan

16 Jan. – Air Commodore Andrew Walton, Commander of NATO’s Disaster Relief team in Pakistan has announced that NATO is beginning its wind down of operations this week so that all personnel will have left the Kashmir region by February 1st.

12 Jan. – Children at the Saint Joseph Hospice in Islamabad have something to smile about, thanks to the students from the third grade class of an international school in Lisbon and the NATO Disaster Relief Team (NDRT) staff.

11 Jan. – NATO engineers provided logistical support for a UNICEF aid convoy into the isolated mountain villages of earthquake-ravaged Kashmir. UNICEF is running a distribution programme for needy families affected by the earthquake and Kashmiri winter.

3000 patients
9 Jan. – NATO Air Mobile Medical Teams in Pakistan have treated over 3,000 patients in the earthquake-affected area of Kashmir since they started operations in November.

6 Jan. – As the first heavy snow storm of the season in the Azad Kashmir province hits the earthquake-affected area, Spanish engineers of the Multinational Engineer Battalion belonging to the Land Component Command of NATO Response Force in Pakistan started cleaning the roads heading to Islamabad.

Commando Engineers Win Traditional Boxing Day Football Match
27 Dec. British Engineers from 59 Independent Commando Squadron Royal Engineers and Royal Marines Engineers enjoyed a traditional Christmas break after a month of building winter community shelters in Kashmir. Along with the traditional Christmas dinner and associated festivities, the engineers played in a football tournament on the following day.
NATO forces set up tents for schooling the boys and girls of the Bagh district
21 Dec. – ARJA, Pakistan — The NATO troops of the Headquarters Support Battalion of the LCC FCE help the students of the district by setting up tents in their spare time.
NATO helicopters surpass 1500 ton mark
20 Dec. – ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The German helicopters belonging to the NATO Disaster Relief Team have transported more than 1500 tons of relief goods and over 3500 victims in the Kashmir region.

16 Dec. – ARJA, Pakistan — General Ahsan Saleem Hyat, the Vice Chief of Army Staff, visited NATO engineering and medical units working in Bagh District on 16 December. He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Javier Arregui (Spanish Army), Land Component Commander who had recently arrived from Spain on a short visit to NATO teams in the area.

15 Dec. – ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The Italian Heavy Engineer contingent assigned to the NATO Disaster Relief Team has received all its heavy equipment and reached full strength although their personnel arrived December 2nd and started working immediately on roads and damaged and destroyed structures.

3 Nov. – Mons, Belgium - An Italian C-130 Hercules carrying 10.4 tons of tents and blankets landed in Islamabad yesterday bringing the total relief supplies flown into Pakistan by NATO to over 1000 tons. On that same day, four more C-130s and a B-747 flew in some 86.2 additional tons.
