NATO Naval Visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina - NATO's Standing Naval Force Mediterranean (STANAVFORMED) flagship, FGS Schleswig-Holstein, will anchor in Neum from 23 to 25 July.
The visit by this NATO flagship to Bosnia and Herzegovina coincides with 'Exercise Joint Resolve 32', currently being conducted by Multinational Task Force South East, which also includes exercising the use of air assets as Over The Horizon Forces.
A media advisory will be issued in due course detailing the arrangements for access to the vessel in Neum harbour, and the corresponding press facilities onboard the Ship, prior to a reception for senior representatives from BiH and the International Community on Saturday evening.
STANAVFORMED was established as a NATO immediate reaction force in Naples (Italy) on 30 April 1992 and has participated in NATO peace support operations related to the former Yugoslavia. The visit of the STANAVFORMED flagship is a further indication of NATO's continued commitment to BiH.
