now under the command and control of Allied Forces South (AF South),and
no longer falls directly under Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers
in Europe (SHAPE). The change in command became effective Feb. 19.

Hedgehog" supports OHR |

Petritsch, has decided to appoint an Arbitrator on the dispute about
IEBL (Inter Entity Boundary Line) in the quarter of Dobrinja. Meanwhile,
SFOR has started Operation "Robust Hedgehog", to reinforce its presence
in this suburb of Sarajevo.

societies have all replied to the invitation of the British Sipovo

The Hungarian Engineer Contingent
(HEC) is the only Hungarian SFOR military unit. Based in Okucani
(Croatia), the Engineers have carried out projects all over the
Theatre since their arrival 16th of January 1996. Now they celebrate
five years of construction in BiH.

Paratroops in action |

After a few days of riots, a group
of uncontrolled elements retain three IPTF (International Police
Task Force) policemen in the area of Gacko, near the Montenegro
border. Their exact position has been discovered, and a commando
assault for rescuing the hostages is going to take place.

Keiler", German Contingent's Newspaper |

"Der Keiler" was born in January
1997, a little after the deployment of the first German Forces in
Bosnia-Herzegovina. In its four years of life, this weekly-newspaper
has punctually reached every corner of the Theatre where any German
Soldier is stationed.

Italian-Moroccan
Joint Activities |
|
It is getting dark on this Bosnian
evening. Near Nevesinje, a four-vehicle patrol can be seen travelling
through "Pommard" SFOR route; two Moroccan (a humvee and a VAB),
and two Italian VM-90s. This is one of the exchange activities that
took place between members of the Italian and Moroccan contingent.

Portuguese
on all fronts |

Portuguese and Germans recently
worked together to familiarise the Portuguese with the Germans'
mission. And while the Portuguese Cavalrymen were in Kiseljak, the
'Tigers', 3rd company from Portuguese 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion
had deployed in the American Battlegroup (AOR), in Camp Dobol.

The Danes from Nordpol are used
to training for any conceivable event. A mine or an accident could
badly damage one of their Leopard 1A5. American teams from 57th
Med Coy Air Ambulance would be these good Samaritans who would come
down through the sky to rescue them.

A group of under privileged local
youths were treated to a day filled with fun, games and food by
members of the British Army Air Corps. The United Kingdom Lynx Detachment
partnered with the Holy Ground Mission in Ilijas to bring 14 boys
for a half-day visit.

run Butmir Med Cell |

Although Slovenia is not yet a
part of NATO, it does provide a significant resource to the thousand
or so military and civilian personnel deployed here from other countries.
The Slovenian medical team that mans the clinic is available 24
hours a day for emergencies, and during established hours for routine
care.
