Peace Stabilisation Force - Operation Joint Guard - Exercise Dynamic Response 98

San Marco Battalion
from Jablanica to Stolac

After a smooth landing at the port of Ploce, Croatia on March 26, the Italian San Marco Marine Battalion deployed to Vrapcici in the former SFOR Moroccan camp in Multinational Division South East.

After rehearsing all the details of the days of exercising to come, in co-operation with a U.S. Marine Combined Anti-Armour Team (CAAT) platoon, they patrolled and carried out route reconnaissance in the towns of Jablanica and Stolac.

Around Stolac the Italian marines carried out foot patrols and exercised their Quick Reaction Force together with the U.S. 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. All movement on the ground was given air support by 2 Italian Marine AB-212 reconnaissance helicopters and 2 SH-3D transport helicopters.
