Russian parliamentarians visit NATO
Members of the Russian State Duma and Federation Council visited NATO HQ in Brussels on the invitation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, on the 21 May. During their visit, the Russian Parliamentarians met with NATO officials and Ambassadors. The visit contributed to the NATO-Russia Council’s commitment to promoting discussions by national parliamentarians on security issues and NRC cooperation.
The Russian delegation met with Deputy NRC Chairman Ambassador Vershbow and NATO Assistant Secretary Generals to discuss topics ranging from defence policy, operations, military to military cooperation, and public diplomacy to NRC cooperation. The Russian Parliamentarians were hosted by members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and later held round table discussions with the U.S. and Polish Ambassadors to NATO Ivo Daalder and Jacek Najder, and the German Deputy Permanent Representative Ekkehard Brose.
