Foreign Ministers discuss Syria and launch new project
NATO-Russia Council Foreign Ministers met in Brussels on 4 December. Foreign Ministers representing the 29 nations of the NRC had a range of international security issues to discuss, including Syria and Afghanistan, as well as NRC current topics.
Foreign Ministers also launched an important new project to cooperate on the disposal of obsolete ammunitions stocks in the Kaliningrad region, Russia.
Foreign Ministers issued a statement of support for the OPCW-UN Joint Mission’s work on the elimination of Syrian chemical weapons.
Foreign Ministers also took NATO-Russia Council practical cooperation forwards during their meeting by endorsing a NRC Programme of Work for 2014.
