On Tuesday 4 December NRC Foreign Ministers met in Brussels for a working lunch. Subjects on the agenda for the meeting included approving the NRC Work Programme for 2013. The document contains a wide range of practical cooperative activities for NRC members to take forward in 2013.

The activities now agreed for 2013 include expanding the NRC Helicopter Maintenance Trust Fund by providing additional and specialised technical training on Mi-17 helicopters and new courses on Mi-35 helicopters, as well as support for the Afghan Air Force’s medical evacuation capability. The Counter Narcotics Training Project will also expand next year.

Counter terrorism is also a key area of cooperation and there is a full agenda of cooperative activities due to take place in 2013, including taking forward the STANDEX project and Cooperative Airspace Initiative, as well as further exploring opportunities for cooperation on Counter-IEDs.
