Operation Allied Force Update

On Day 62 of Operation Force attacks against Serb forces in Kosovo continued. Targets struck included several artillery emplacements, revetted military vehicles, a radar site and a logistic support base. However, poor weather in the region meant that fewer sorties were flown than in recent days. Exact sortie numbers are not yet available, but will be provided as soon as possible.

Attacks against other targets in Yugoslavia continued, with many strikes focused on the Milosevic regime's higher level command and control facilities, including:

The Dobanovci Presidential villa, which contained a command and control bunker

The Belgrade Ministry of Internal Affairs

An air defence operations centre at Rakovica

Electric power transmission towers near Belgrade

Radio relay towers at Uzice and Sremska Karlovci

Other attacks included strikes on:

Airfields at Batajnica and Sjenica

A radar site at Novi Sad

A petroleum storage site at Novi Sad

An ammunition storage facility at Vrdnik

All NATO aircraft returned to base safely. Operations on Day 63 of the campaign are under way. Further details will be provided at the regular military briefing at 15.00 CET.
