ISAF service member killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan –International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died today as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in southern Afghanistan. 

“I express my profound sympathies to the loved ones of this proud service member who died for peace and stability in Afghanistan,” said Brigadier General Eric Tremblay, ISAF Spokesperson.

“Despite the risks and challenges this mission presents to international and Afghan security forces, the protection of Afghan citizens remains our priority.”

Air Force Captain Regina Gillis, a U.S. spokesperson, confirmed the deceased is a U.S. service member.
