Two ISAF service members killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan –Two International Security Assistance Force service members died as a result of an improvised explosive attack that occurred Aug. 18, during a patrol in southern Afghanistan.

“We express deep sorrow for the family and friends of our fellow service members in the wake of these losses,” said Brig. Gen. Eric Tremblay, ISAF spokesperson.

U.S. Press Officer Capt. Regina Gillis confirmed that the deceased were U.S. service members.

ISAF is a key component of the international community’s engagement in Afghanistan, assisting the Afghan authorities in providing security and stability and creating the conditions for reconstruction and development.
