Six ISAF service members are killed in two separate IED incidents in northern and southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - Four International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members were killed as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strike in northern Afghanistan.  In a separate IED incident that occurred in southern Afghanistan, two other ISAF soldiers also lost their life.

“On behalf of all ISAF service members, I wish to express our profound regret and sadness at the news of the death of these six courageous Soldiers,” said Brigadier-General Eric Tremblay, ISAF Spokesperson.

“They lost their life helping to bring security, stability and hope to a troubled region of the world. They, like the other men and women who serve in Afghanistan were performing admirably in support of this important mission, this country and its people. We will not forget their sacrifice.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
