ISAF service member killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member was killed on 6 June as a result of a hostile incident in southern Afghanistan.

“I am saddened to inform you of the death of this fine service member, and I offer our condolences and support to the family,” said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF Spokesperson.  “Though the pain of this loss is acute, we persevere, knowing that our actions in support of the Afghan people will lead to peace.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
