ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An ISAF soldier was killed yesterday in southern Afghanistan.

“I share with this soldier’s family the sorrow we feel within the International Security Assistance Force on this day,” said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF Spokesperson. “This brave soldier died fighting to bring peace to a people in great need, and we will carry on the fight in memory of this sacrifice.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
