ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An ISAF soldier was killed today in an IED strike in southern Afghanistan.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce this brave soldier’s death and we offer our deepest sympathies to his loved ones,” said Captain Mark Windsor Royal Navy, ISAF Spokesman. “We remain committed to working together with the people of Afghanistan to improve security and stability in their country, the cause for which this soldier paid the ultimate sacrifice.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
