ISAF serviceman killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An ISAF serviceman was killed this morning in southern Afghanistan.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce this brave serviceman’s death as we offer our sympathies to this serviceman’s loved ones, especially during this time of the year,” said Captain Mark Windsor Royal Navy, ISAF Spokesman. “This serviceman’s life was taken while helping bring peace and security to Afghanistan. We have lost a valuable member of our team. We will continue to fight for the cause for which he made the ultimate sacrifice.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
