Afghan killed in auto accident

KABUL, Afghanistan - A vehicle being towed by an International Security Assistance Force convoy broke loose and hit a local national’s vehicle, killing the driver, today in Sayed Abad District, Wardak province.

“This is a tragic and highly regrettable accident. ISAF regrets the loss of innocent Afghan lives and does everything possible to avoid civilian casualties during its operations in Afghanistan,” said Captain Mark Windsor Royal Navy, ISAF Spokesman.

The ISAF convoy stopped immediately to render aid and ISAF officials notified the provincial sub-governor of the tragic accident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
