ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

An ISAF soldier was killed by an IED strike this afternoon in southern Afghanistan.

“Our sincere condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of this brave soldier, especially during this holiday season,” said Captain Mark Windsor Royal Navy, ISAF Spokesman. “This soldier’s death is an irreplaceable loss to all of us who fight for the peace and stability of Afghanistan. ISAF will continue to fight for the cause for which this brave soldier gave his life.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
