ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — An ISAF soldier was killed when a patrol struck an IED Nov. 15 in southern Afghanistan.

“Our deep sympathies go out to the family and friends of this soldier,” said Brigadier General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. “We have lost a valuable member of our team and this loss will be felt across ISAF.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
