ANSF, ISAF convoys in Afghanistan

This sign is posted on vehicles in an ISAF convoy, asking drivers to keep a distance away from the convoy. Also, green lights may be used to further signal drivers to back away or stop.

KABUL, Afghanistan - Military convoys of the Afghan National Security Forces and ISAF regularly use principal and secondary roads to conduct operations and to provide security to the Afghan people.

The support of the Afghan population is essential to avoid any civilian casualties.

ANSF and ISAF wish to remind everyone to adhere to all signals and warnings to slow down and stop when convoys or patrols are approaching. These are standard procedures that ANSF and ISAF troops use throughout Afghanistan. Failing to follow the procedures when approaching convoys or patrols could be interpreted as a hostile act.
