ISAF Provincial Reconstruction Team of Qala E Naw supports voter registration process

KABUL, Afghanistan - Following several meetings with the ISAF PRT in Qala e Naw, the office responsible for coordinating the work of all the voter registration centres has opened.

Meetings have been facilitated by the governor of Baghdis province, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Nasseri, and attended by the chief of the provincial police General Mohammad Ayoub Niyazya, the chief of the company deployed in Qala e Naw, Captain Hassan, chief of the PRT, Colonel Pedro Rolan as well as several representatives of the voter register organization centres, belonging to the Independent Electoral Committee and UNAMA.

The security of the registration centres is the responsibility of the Afghan National Police.

During the voter registration period, Afghan people will be able to register to create an electoral register, which allows people to vote in the upcoming elections.
