ISAF helps Afghan officials prepare for winter

KABUL, Afghanistan - ISAF’s Chaghcharan Provincial Reconstruction Team in west Afghanistan recently donated clothes to the National Directorate of Security officers in Ghowr.

ISAF provided 100 sets of coats and thermal underwear to the officers so that they can prepare for winter.

“We really appreciate this attention and care,” said Deputy Chief Nasim Mohammad.

This is the PRT’s second round of support for the province’s security officers. The ISAF soldiers also delivered 200 sets of warm clothes to the local Afghan National Police last week.

According the police chief, even such small donations raise the morale of security officers.

The Afghan winter can be especially cold with plenty of snow in Ghowr. This can make living and working in the province a challenge. ISAF’s Chaghcharan PRT aims to make life easier for the local people during the winter.
