ISAF condemns attack that kills 6, wounds 17

KABUL, Afghanistan - ISAF condemns a suicide insurgent attack that killed six and wounded at least 17 at the bazaar area of Spin Boldak, Kandahar, September 28.

Among the civilians killed and injured, four Afghan Border Police officers were killed, whilst two were wounded.

“We strongly denounce this heartless act, especially during the holy month of Ramadan and in such a public place intended to cause civilian casualties. This indiscriminate attack shows the depths to which the enemies of Afghanistan will stoop in the efforts to destabilize this country and undo the progress that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has made thus far,” said British Royal Navy Captain Mark Windsor, ISAF spokesperson. “Our condolences and deepest sympathies go to the families of those killed and injured.”

Those injured were taken to local and ISAF hospitals for treatment.
