ISAF soldier dies in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — An ISAF soldier died from injuries from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strike in southern Afghanistan August 31.

“Our thoughts and hearts are with the loved ones of the soldier killed in this tragic incident,” said Brigadier General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. “This soldier was in Afghanistan helping to bring peace and security to the Afghan people.”

It is ISAF policy to not release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
