Security forces stop IED emplacement

KABUL, Afghanistan – International Security Assistance Forces stopped several militants from placing an IED in Ghazni province August 22.

Soldiers from Task Force Currahee observed four militants placing an IED along the Sharana to Ghazni road in Ghazni province.  Aircraft were called in and fired upon the militants.

Task Force Currahee and ANA soldiers disposed of the IED and searched the building the militants ran to, finding an RPG.

This joint effort of ANSF and ISAF prevented damage to the people in the region and enhanced security in the area.
