ISAF soldiers die in IED strike

KABUL, Afghanistan - Three ISAF soldiers died in southern Afghanistan August 20 when their vehicle struck an IED.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to these soldier's family, friends and fellow soldiers,” said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. “The focus right now is to look after their families and colleagues and to provide them the best possible support during this difficult time.”

It is ISAF policy to not release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
