ISAF soldier dies in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An ISAF soldier died in southern Afghanistan when insurgents attacked a patrol August 11.

“Our sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the soldier who was killed today,” said Brigadier General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. “We have lost a valuable member of our team, and this loss will be felt across ISAF.”

It is ISAF policy to not release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
