ISAF condemns attack in Faryab

KABUL, Afghanistan - An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strike in Faryab province August 11 wounded 13 civilians.

The attack also killed one and wounded three Latvian ISAF soldiers.

“We offer our condolences to all families affected by this attack,” said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. “This continues to show the insurgents are desperate to destabilize Afghanistan, with no regard for the lives of innocent Afghans.”

Next of kin have been notified.
