ISAF soldier dies of wounds in Helmand

 

KABUL, Afghanistan — An ISAF soldier died of wounds when a patrol came under fire from insurgents in Kajaki, Helmand July 22.

“Our hearts and minds are with the family and loved ones of this fine soldier who died yesterday,” said British Royal Navy Captain Mike Finney, ISAF spokesperson. “This soldier died honourably, helping bring security to Afghanistan.”

It is ISAF policy to not release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
