Key members of Insurgents leadership killed by ANSF, ISAF

KABUL, Afghanistan - On July 9 in Kandahar province several key members of Insurgents leadership were killed in an air strike attack coordinated by ANSF and ISAF.

With the assistance of information gathered by the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Joint ANSF and ISAF forces knew that the Insurgents commanders were meeting to coordinate plans to re-group following the ANSF succession in Arghandab.

The success of that operation was also aided by close observation of the target. ANSF and ISAF are still watching closely and will act decisively to prevent this type of action against civilians.

ANSF and ISAF are here to make a difference for the Afghan people and will stay the course. ANSF and ISAF continue, along with the GIRoA, to strive to make Afghanistan a better place to live for all of the Afghan people.

There is no report of collateral damage or civilians killed or injured.
