ISAF Regional Command Capital troops support agricultural developments

Italian soldiers, members of the local community and community leaders attended the opening ceremony for four newly constructed wells in the Jegdaleg valley June 30.

KABUL, Afghanistan — ISAF Italian troops of Task Force Surobi, inaugurated four new wells in the Jegdaleg valley. The opening ceremony was attended by Italian soldiers, members of the local community and community leaders June 30.

The Nawabad village also celebrated the completion of another project: the construction of a wall designed to contain rain and help solve the problem of drought in this rural area.

Italian soldiers, members of the local community and community leaders attended the opening ceremony for four newly constructed wells in the Jegdaleg valley June 30.

Both projects have been realized with national funds from the Agriculture Project totalling more than 29,000 Euro. The Agriculture Project will also deliver trees, agricultural equipment, fodders and grain to the local Surobi area.

Agriculture is the main source of income within this area and the agriculture project is one of the many activities lead by Italian troops in the Kabul area.
ISAF’s RC Capital achieves an important result in the agriculture field, one of the most important focuses of its reconstruction and development effort.
