Regional Command Capital finds
100th weapons cache

A Regional Command Capital (RC-C) solider prepares a weapons cache for destruction. Troops of RC-C have found their 100th weapons cache since January 1, 2008.

KABUL, Afghanistan — Troops of Regional Command Capital (RC-C) found their 100th weapons cache in the Kabul area yesterday.

Since January 1, troops of RC-C have found: 6598 bullets, 671 mortar rounds, 478 rockets, 693 fuses, 75 kilograms of explosive, 145 grenades, 117 mines, three guns, two rifles and one mortar.

Task Force Surobi found 84 of the total 100 caches discovered. The others were found by Italian, French and Turkish contingents operating in RC-C area of operations.

These discoveries were made as a result of ISAF troops’ presence in the area of operations and the good relationships developed by soldiers and the population.
