ISAF Troops inaugurate a library in Surobi

KABUL, Afghanistan – Regional Command (RC) Capital Troops celebrated the opening of a new library in the village of Surobi 60 km east from Kabul.

The ceremony presided by the Afghan Minister of Education, was attended by Surobi district`s Governor, by the Italian Commander of Landing Forces, General Armando Novelli, by Italian Senior National Representative in Afghanistan, MG Alberto Primicerj, by RC-Capital Commander, General Federico Bonato and all the most important local authorities.

The library is a two story building including six rooms with office space and large reading rooms. Library equipment with wood furniture was included as well.

All the structure, worth about 185,000 Euro, has been delivered to the Afghan authorities complete with 1,200 books concerning arts, history, literature, music and religion.    

ISAF`s RC-Capital achieves an important result in the field of education, one of the most important focuses of its reconstruction and development effort.

The Italian Troops of Task Force Surobi dedicated the library in the memory of 2nd Lt. Giovanni Pezzullo, an Italian officer who perished in a terroristic attack last February.
