Two ISAF soldiers die, one wounded in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – Two ISAF soldiers died and one soldier was wounded yesterday when they encountered insurgents while on patrol in southern Afghanistan.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldiers who were killed during this tragic event,” said Brigadier General Carlos Branco, ISAF spokesperson. “This soldiers’ life was taken while trying to help bring peace and security to Afghanistan.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

The next of kin have been notified.
