2 ISAF soldiers die, 4 wounded in Nangarhar province explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – Two ISAF soldiers were killed and four were wounded today when their patrol was struck by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) in Nangarhar province.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of these fallen soldiers,” said Brigadier General Carlos Branco, ISAF spokesperson. “ISAF remains committed to rebuilding Afghanistan, a cause for which these soldiers gave their lives.”

ISAF soldiers also discovered an additional improvised explosive device and an unexploded ordnance, which they safely disposed of.

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
