ISAF troops of Regional Command Capital support education in Kabul
KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF troops celebrated the opening of two new school buildings last week. The Italian contingent, operating in Kabul, inaugurated a new building May 27 in the “Alam Faizad” high school for 1,000 students.
The new building is composed of 10 classrooms plus an internet room with 20 personal computers. The structure, worth about $220,000 was funded by Bolzano province.
Shortly before, French Troops of Regional Command Capital inaugurated another school in Qual He Ye Nirza, a small village north from Kabul. The $80,000 facility will provide education for 700 female students and consists of four classrooms, three administrative offices, and sanitary facilities. The Embassy of France sponsored the school, while the French Civil-Military Cooperation Team implemented the project.
ISAF’s Regional Command Capital is supporting the Government of Afghanistan through several projects in the field of education, one of the major focuses of its Reconstruction and Development effort.
