ISAF soldier died of wounds, 4 others wounded in eastern Afghanistan IED explosion
KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier died of wounds and four others were wounded in an improvised explosive device explosion during a routine patrol in eastern Afghanistan today.
“Our thoughts and hearts are with the loved ones of the soldier killed and those wounded in this tragic incident,” said Brigadier General Carlos Branco, ISAF spokesman.
A secondary IED was found in the vicinity of the exploded IED along with a truck containing various IED parts.
In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
