UPDATE: ISAF soldier, civilian killed, ISAF soldier dies of wounds, another soldier wounded in Ghazni explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier and a civilian interpreter were killed, and two ISAF soldiers were wounded in an explosion during a patrol in Ghazni province on 20 May. (As reported in ISAF News Release 2008-202)

The wounded soldiers were transported to an ISAF hospital to be treated, where one ISAF solder later died of wounds.

“I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured by the blast,” said Brigadier General Carlos Branco, ISAF spokesperson.

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
