2 ISAF soldiers killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – Two ISAF soldiers were killed in two separate incidents in southern Afghanistan today.

One soldier was killed by enemy hostile action and another was killed in an improvised explosive device blast while supporting an Afghan National Police operation.

“Our hearts and minds are with the families and other loved ones of the dedicated soldiers who died today,” said Brigadier General Carlos Branco, ISAF spokesperson. “These soldiers died honourably, helping to bring security to the people of Afghanistan.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

Next of kin have been notified.
