Two ISAF soldiers killed, two wounded in southern Afghanistan explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – Two ISAF soldiers were killed and two were wounded during an explosion in southern Afghanistan early this morning.

The wounded soldiers were transported to an ISAF hospital where they are being treated.

"One can appreciate that this is a very difficult time right now and our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldiers who were killed today" said Lieutenant Colonel Sarto LeBlanc, Regional Command South spokesperson. "These soldiers died trying to help bring peace and security for the Afghan people."

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so. Next of kin have been informed.
