Afghan truck driver killed in
IED attack on ISAF convoy

KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan civilian driving a vehicle in an ISAF convoy died in Kunar Province on 3 April.

The accident occurred when the fuel truck he was driving exploded after it struck what is believed to have been an improvised explosive device (IED).

The truck was part of a convoy that was conducting a resupply mission in the Manogai District.

"This is yet another example of the insurgents' apparent disregard for human life," said Major Nick Sternberg, an ISAF spokesperson. "The insurgents continue to bring death and suffering to Afghanistan and its people."
No ISAF service members were wounded or killed in the attack.
