One ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – As the result of combat with insurgents in southern Afghanistan, one ISAF soldier was killed in action and two others were injured.

The injured soldiers were evacuated to the ISAF medical facilities by emergency response helicopters where they are being treated.

Lieutenant Colonel Sarto LeBlanc, spokesman for Regional Command South, said: "Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the soldier who died today."

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
